Yet, among all the fanfare, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to navigate the lists of speakers, events, and activations. So to help NFT enthusiasts and maximalists of all types get through this year’s wealth of festivities, we’ve created a roadmap through NFT.NYC’s most exciting and influential happenings.

First-Ever NFT Office Building is Sold in New York City

A developer in NYC purchased the first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) Office building in New York City. «Located» at 44 West 37th Street, the 4700 square meters NFT serves as an immutable digital asset that points to transforming how we design, build, operate, and monetize our spaces with only «one-click». The 16-story building was created by spatial intelligence company Integrated Projects and questions the function of architecture in Real Estate and the Metaverse.

Owners can create, own, transact and monetize their digital assets without the hassle of transferring property ownership. That means one sells/ buys images,3D scans, plans, virtual tours, and location reports instead of physical property. With an NFT, the transaction process is streamlined, allowing a buyer to assume ownership of a piece of real estate within minutes. In addition, «NFTs might save owners time, expense, and coordination involved in re-producing the accurate existing conditions of their physical space by painting a survey-grade picture of the building’s physical characteristics—architecture, equipment, and mechanical,» Integrated Projects said.

Although these Properties do not struggle with physical and human conditions that architecture has faced for centuries, it opens a new debate in architectural practice. With all possibilities in the virtual world, market capitalization seems to be the virtual design axis, driving architecture into speculation and mere images. On the other hand, NFTs are the opportunity to establish strict ownership regulations, not only in terms of real estate but in terms of intellectual property.

«New York is the 20th century’s Rosetta Stone», indicated Rem Koolhaas in Delirious New York. As many skyscrapers in Manhattan did, the «44W37» is the beginning of a new era in architecture and real estate in megacities. The opening of MetaMundo’s 3D NFT Villa also questions the function of architecture in the Metaverse. Renowned architects have already pointed out their perspectives: Rashed Singaby, the senior project designer at HOK, pointed out that «between designing for the metaverse and harnessing its capabilities, the potential is almost limitless,» and Leon Rost, director of BIG, considers the Metaverse inherent in architecture, where «structure, materiality, and cost go out the window.»

чувствовали себя на конференции так будто это их конюшня. Зрители были в восторге от скаковых лошадок и фоткались с их фигурками на каждом шагу. Лошадки забрали себе два призовых места, за лучшую игровую коллекцию по транзакциям и за самую большую по объему коллекцию на блокчейне .

На конфе был замечен и единорог Mythical Games. Они привезли еще 2 новые игры к двум имеющимся.

Due to the high volume of speaker applications, NFT.NYC is introducing an Unconference for the first time. The Unconference will welcome speakers to register on a first-come, first-serve basis to present on two open stages during NFT. NYC 2022. There are some clear guidelines and limitations for speakers who take to the Unconference stages, and they will get a 10-minute max presentation time. There will be no product pitches or slide decks during the Unconference.

Events and Activations to Check Out

Every piece in this year’s “Diversity of NFTs” art collection will be displayed on a Times Square billboard and throughout the Marriott Hotel during the conference. NFT.NYC launched this activation as a new way to celebrate and recognize emerging artists.

This year’s awards ceremony is supported by OpenSea, APENFT, and NFT.Kred.

Universal Space Station

Monstercat and Universe.xyz are teaming up to host an evening of music, technology, and art at Webster Hall in downtown Manhattan on June 19. Micah Johnson, a former MLB player and the creator of the Akutars NFT collection, will exhibit select art from the “Akuverse.” The event is open to holders of Monstercat NFTs, RELICS, IDOLS, Polymorphs, Lobby Lobsters, and NFTBoxes, as well as Akutars.

Coinbase NFT Future Market

Coinbase NFT is hosting an activation called the Future Market, which it describes as as “a reimagination of the NFT marketplace as a physical and digital playground,” per its official website. Collectors and creators can experience the Future Market throughout NFT.NYC in Chelsea on Manhattan’s west side.

ChillRx Music NFT Studios

Chill Rx, a virtual music and digital artist collective, is hosting various events through NFT.NYC. Each day from June 20 to 24, the company will host events at Quad Recording Studios from 4 to 8 p.m. The fun doesn’t stop there; ChillRx will host nightly events where attendees should expect “jam sessions, beat battles, freestyle sessions, karaoke, merch, and more,” the invite reads. All events are free, and anyone can check out what’s happening at the studio. RSVP is required for nightly events.

Digital Diaspora

Featuring live performances, an art exhibition, a public installation, and a fundraising auction, Digital Diaspora seeks to increase awareness of racism and inequity while continuing to uplift the importance of human dignity. In addition to Sinclair and Drift, featured artists include Cory Van Lew, IX Shells, Latashá, Swopes, Andre Oshea, Misan Harriman, and more.

Canadian record label Monstercat and community-driven NFT platform Universe.xyz are teaming up again this year for a large-scale NFT.NYC party. Presented this time by Pranksy‘s NFTBoxes subscription-based project, Universal Space Station will be an evening of music, technology, and art. Featuring live performances from Don Diablo, BT, and Vindata, the event will center around the RELICS Collectors Cocktail Lounge and an NFT gallery curated by Micah Johnson and his influential Akuverse project.

Attendees will have access to a range of golf experiences by a line-up of partners, including Michelob Ultra, Erik Anders Lang, and a surprise visit from OTTO: the world’s first autonomous ball-fitting robot. Forgotten Runes

Popular fantasy-themed NFT project Forgotten Runes will be hosting a single-night NFT.NYC satellite event titled “Enter the Runiverse.” Featuring an exclusive “first look” preview of the forthcoming Runiverse free-to-play game, the event will showcase how the project has been actively delivering initiatives across gaming, film/tv, merchandising, IRL events, and traditional publishing. Join the Forgotten runes crew as they sacrifice jelly donuts, bask in sorcery, and chant in ritual to release viral sensation Oliver Tree as the Beast Gigas Chad for a magical musical performance.

Starcatchers & Friends

Looking to kick off your NFT NYC week proper with a stunning panoramic view of Manhattan? Feel good PFP project Starcatchers has you covered with a 101st-floor blowout in partnership with Vinnie Hager, Whiskers, and Sprite Club. Web3Fest

The NFT Guild and Redpill VR are teaming up to present Web3Fest — a mixed reality event hosted as part of the Dented Feels NYC Vacation. Hosted by Paolo Moreno, Web3Fest is presented as part of Redpill VR’s mission to create the most innovative VR experiences on the market. The event will feature a fully immersive live DJ set by Georgia Sinclair and her metaverse avatar, as well as artwork from featured projects Dented Feels, SuperNormal, and friends.

Apefest

When: June 20 – 23: Times TBA

Where: Pier 17 (89 South St.)

Back again for another year of debauchery, the Bored Ape Yacht Club will be hosting four days of events at this year’s NFT.NYC. So far, BAYC has announced that attendees can expect merch, art, an open bar, free food, and music with new live performances every night. Do note that the events will only be open to owners of BAYC and MAYC NFTs and their guests.

Cool Cats

When: June 21/22: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. & June 23: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Center415 (415 5th Ave.)

Popular PFP project Cool Cats is planning an IRL activation for NFT.NYC, which will include a fully immersive, physical version of their popular Cooltopia game. Featuring a gamified journey aimed at inspiring, educating, and entertaining guests, the experience will be open to both Cool Cats holders and event attendees, free of charge. The activation is slated to illustrate that NFTs are only a singular part of the Cool Cat’s evolving, multi-faceted mission.

Doodles

The influential Doodles project will be hosting three days of immersive events, two of which will be open to the public. Influential crypto-artist FVCKRENDER will be bridging the gap between the metaverse and IRL with a physical activation of his prominent LVCIDIA metaverse project. For three days, LVCIDIA will be on display as a virtual gallery that connects FVCKRENDER’s imaginative celestial and terrestrial worlds to his FVCK_AVATAR generative NFT collection. The event will also feature a collaboration with Steve Aoki’s A0K1VERSE, as well as performances by Steve Aoki, TOKiMONSTA, and The Holy.

Nft now Shake Shack Takeover

Sports and web3 DAO Krause House will be throwing a 3v3 basketball tournament for NFT NYC with a custom-built court. To commemorate the event, the court will be fractionalized into over 1,000 pieces and sold as the world’s first physical NFT basketball court via public mint on June 15. A portion of all NFT sales will be donated to a basketball-focused charity of the community’s choice, while the winning team of the 3v3 tournament will receive a $5,000 cash prize and one percent of the total court NFT sales.

Miami X NYC Tech Happy Hour

Where: Freehold in the Park (20 Union Square W)

Influential NFT platform OneOf has teamed up with JPEG Morgan and others to present a Miami x NYC Tech Happy Hour. Set to be a casual recurring happy hour for new and old Miamians and New Yorkers, the event is open to the public (with RSVP) for those interested in connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, investors, tech folks, and more. Although the gathering is hosted every other week at Freehold, this special NFT.NYC edition is sure to see a turnout from NFT/crypto community members from all over.

Zoratopia

When: June 23: 6 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Where: Knockdown Center (52-19 Flushing Ave.)

The multi-faceted community behind the ever-popular Zora NFT protocol is planning yet another NFT.NYC bash for this year’s conference. While the main activation — which will include an NFT exhibition, free merch, and live performances — is set to happen on June 23, Zora will be hosting a range of in-person events throughout NYC on both June 21 and 22. Что бросалось в глаза, так это то, как мало дискуссий на NFT NYC касалось медвежьего рынка. Снижение цен NFT, часть более широкого медвежьего рынка криптовалют, было запоздалым.

Относительно стратегий на медвежьем рынке, многие дали один и тот же ответ: продолжать держать свои активы, продолжать разработки и ждать возвращения криптовалютного лета.

Этого следовало ожидать, пожалуй. Одной из основных мантр криптоиндустрии является фраза «мы справимся», сокращенно WAGMI. Поскольку большая часть криптокультуры до сих пор находилась в Интернете, вполне логично, что посетители предпочитают игнорировать темы в Твиттере и просто хотят наслаждаться общим пространством с другими энтузиастами NFT.

Тем не менее ни на вечеринках, ни на самой конференции медведь в комнате не обсуждался. Зпто было много напоминаний о том, что венчурное финансирование по-прежнему в изобилии поступает в сектор.
