Rarible is one of the most popular NFT marketplaces online. With a wide catalog of projects, a range of currencies, and a simple interface, it is a go-to for collectors both new and experienced.
This short guide will break down, step by step, how to search for and buy NFTs through Rarible, kickstarting your NFT adventure.

In recent years, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has experimented with virtual scavenger hunts and augmented reality. This spring, the event will not only spotlight the next big thing in music but also one of the hottest tech trends, bringing NFTs to center stage for the 250,000 or so people expected to attend the sold-out weekends April 15-17 and April 22-24 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.
NFT stands for non-fungible token, a unique digital item that can be bought and sold and take many forms, including images, GIFs and audio. In recent years, the work of musicians such as Kings of Leon and artists such as Beeple and Banksy have been minted as NFTs.
“We saw what they were doing for artists, and Coachella is a festival and an experience that wants to highlight creatives, so it seemed like an opportunity to do that,” said Sam Schoonover Coachella’s Innovative Lead.
As Schoonover and his team started seeing headlines and traction around NFTs in early 2021, they wondered about how to incorporate them into the fabric of Coachella.
The festival announced its entrance into the NFT market in early February with collections that included festival photos and sounds, posters and unique Coachella keys that came with lifetime passes and on-site experiences that range from front-of-house views to lifetime luxe camping accommodations at the festival.
“It’s a lot of education for people who are getting their first NFT ever,” Schoonover said. “It was our goal to introduce Coachella fans to new technology and introduce NFT fans to Coachella, and we did both.”
More recently, the festival announced a NFT collection with the music collective 88rising, which will have a showcase at the festival.
Plus, passholders will receive a free NFT of a flower that can be activated on-site with a handful blossoming into big perks.
And this could be just the beginning.
“I think NFTs are going to be an important part of a lot of festivals with marketing and fan engagement strategies. But I think that the concept of an NFT is going to evolve dramatically,” Schoonover said. “I think we’re on step one of 10 of what technology around NFTs is going to enable in the next 10 years.”
Here’s a rundown of Coachella’s NFT collections.
In Bloom: Those who have received wristbands to the festival will be given one of the In Bloom NFTs. It looks like a massive psychedelic flower seed, and it will blossom every Friday morning of the festival. Some will blossom into one of six rare flowers that can be redeemed for things at the festival like VIP upgrades, 2023 weekend passes, Goldenvoice concert tickets, and Ferris wheel rides. Passholders must download the FTX app, Coachella’s NFT marketplace partner, and connect their wristband to be able to access the NFT.
Sights and Sounds Collection: Part of the initial NFT offering, this collection included 10,000 NFTs priced at $60. Each came with one of 10 photos that could be redeemed for a physical print as well as an exclusive soundscapes from the polo fields. It sold out within a few hours of going on sale.
Desert Reflections Collection: Limited to 1,000, this collection of digital versions of 10 posters from across Coachella’s history created by the artist Emek could also be redeemed for a physical photo book of the festival. Priced at $180 each, the collection sold out within three minutes.
Coachella Keys collection: The 10 individual NFTs in the collection all included lifetime passes to Coachella for one weekend in April every year and varying amenities such as luxury camping and gourmet meals. Each sold in the six figures with the total coming to $1,474,000.
88rising Head in the Clouds Forever collection: Music collective 88rising, which is behind the Head in the Clouds Festival in Pasadena and a showcase with the same name at Coachella, has teamed up with filmmaker and visual artist Curry Tian. The collection features three sub-collections titled Cloud Show by Curry Tian, Head in the Clouds by Curry Tian and View from the Clouds.
Perks for all of the collections include new music from 88rising artists after Coachella 2022, a dedicated entry line at Head In The Clouds L.A. 2022, early access to upcoming 88rising NFT collections and early access to 88rising merchandise drops and collaborations. Some also include discounts for the brand’s merch online.
There will also be an NFT scavenger hunt available Coachella attendees. Find 88rising’s secret art pieces at Coachella and scan a code in the FTX app to reveal a landing page with instructions on how to mint an exclusive NFT on-site.
Cloud Show by Curry Tian: Limited to 5,000 NFTs and starting at $88, they include a Coachella 2022 water bottle. Sometime after weekend 2, the original NFT will transform into a new one with a 15-second video of the stage visuals designed by Tian. NFT holders must retain the NFT in the FTX wallet for the transformation to happen.
The Head in the Clouds by Curry Tian: Limited to 1,000 NFTs and starting at $288, perks include a limited-edition Coachella x 88rising T-shirt and $88 off passes for the next Head in the Clouds festival in L.A. Like the Cloud Show NFTs, they will transform after the festival’s second weekend — these into one of three different celestial beings designed by Tian.
The View from the Clouds/Cloud Mansion:Limited to six NFTs with prices based on bidding (similar to the Coachella Keys), the most exclusive is the View from The Clouds, contains the NFT titled Private Viewing. It includes two artist passes to Head in the Clouds L.A. 2022, two Coachella 2022 VIP passes and two credentials for special viewing access of 88rising’s Head in the Clouds performance at Coachella 2022.
The other five NFTs are titled Cloud Mansion and include two special access passes to a party at the 88rising Cloud Mansion offsite near Coachella this year and two Southbay Surfclub tickets for Head in the Clouds L.A. 2022.
How To Buy NFT on Rarible
To start the process head over to Rarible.com and make sure that you are logged in – you can see this in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
If you know the NFT or project that you are after, then search it in the top toolbar. If you are unsure then hit “Explore” and select your preferred currency. For this guide, we will be using Polygon (MATIC).
Note: not every project is available via every currency, so if you are unable to find your ideal NFT be sure to explore other options!
Once you have confirmed your currency selection, you will then be presented with everything available on that specific protocol.
You can then sort the available NFTs via a range of categories, collections, sale types and price ranges depending on your preferences or interests.
For this guide, we want an NFT that we can buy immediately so will click “Buy now” under the sale type tab as opposed to partaking in an auction or making an offer.
If you see an NFT that catches your eye, and that you want to buy, click on it to be taken to the token’s unique sale page.
Here you can view the details of the piece, including a brief synopsis of the art, the collection details and history, the current owner of the piece and also the unique properties of the NFT down the right hand side.
These properties often differ in rarity and cover all aspects of the NFT. For example, in this Hemeta the properties include the hate, the clothes, the background etc. These can have an impact on the future value of the NFT as the popularity of the project grows.
You can check out how rare your NFT is using online tools such as Rarity Ranks. Sites like this order a project’s artwork collection based on their individual traits and properties, allowing you to see their overall rarity score.
As aforementioned, for some NFTs you have the option to place a bid, make an offer or buy it now. For this particular NFT we have not got that option, as we searched for those we could only purchase immediately.
To start this process click “Buy for 4 MATIC”.
If your wallet is connected to the wrong network, e.g. Ethereum instead of Polygon, you will be greeted with a pop-up prompting you to connect the appropriate wallet to your account.
Click “Connect” to proceed.
You will then be prompted further, this time to switch to the Polygon network within your Metamask wallet.
Click “Metamask” to continue.
You will then receive a Metamask pop-up confirming you are happy to switch to the Polygon Mainnet for this purchase.
If you are happy, tap the blue “Switch network” button to proceed.
Click “Proceed to payment” to continue.
Metamask will again pop up, showing you estimated gas fees, and the total costs incurred during this purchase.
If you are happy to proceed and finalize the purchase, click “Confirm” on the Metamask tab.
Wait a couple of seconds for the transaction to go through, and the NFT is all yours!
Now you have purchased the NFT, its page will also have been updated. Click “View NFT” to see these changes.
You will see the details have changed, with the owner being updated to show your account on the right-hand side of the page.
Your NFT options will have changed, as you can now transfer it to another wallet or put the NFT up for sale – both of which we will cover in the near future.
Scam Alert!
By looking at the trading history of an NFT, we can see the frequency and value of sales and the wallets making the transactions. When we see many transactions in a short space between a few wallets, it’s safe to assume wash trading is happening to inflate a collection’s average and floor price artificially.
Why? Because increasing these metrics will push the collection up the rankings on sites such as DappRadar and can trick people into thinking there’s a hot new NFT collection they should ape into.
Clicking the link on each one will take you to one NFT in the collection where the trading history looks highly suspicious and where you can investigate further for yourselves and start to understand what to look for when researching potential NFT investments.

Interestingly, Fidenza #696 sold for 100 ETH less than its highest sale last year, while Chromie Squiggle #1751 netted a 91 ETH margin from its previous highest value sale.
At the lower end of the scale, we see one collector has scooped up Gazers #362 and another piece called The Sea of Ice for a combined 80 ETH, or around $121,000.

An NFT from the Solana DeGods collection has sold for a whopping 7,033 SOL, or around $220,000 ahead of the latest y00ts NFT drop from creators Dust Labs. The sale bucks the 600 SOL average sale price for a DeGods NFT by more than 6400 SOL to become the third highest value NFT sale in the past week.
Beating the DeGod sale in terms of higher value NFT sales, we see a land plot from the Axie Infinity universe change hands for almost $260,000, and Bored Ape Yacht Club #6588 sells for $1.19 million.
However, the sale of BAYC #6588 looks artificial as the trading history reveals that the individual used a new wallet the purchase the BAYC for 77 ETH, then sold it to another new wallet 24 hours later for 700 ETH. A practice we see time after time as holders try to inflate the values of their NFTs artificially.
DeGods average and sale price has been surging over the last week as rumors about the latest y00ts NFT drop from creators Dust Labs circulated through the crypto-verse. We also saw more DeGod sales for around $20,000 in the past few days.
However, the sale of DeGod #270 for 7,033 SOL is the highest sale of a DeGod NFT, and a glance at the metadata can reveal why this particular DeGod might be worth more than others.
The clothes, head, skin, and background traits set this NFT apart as this DeGod has Mythic War Armour and a Mythic Helmet, which only 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively, of the NFTs in the DeGods collection have.
Interestingly, looking at other DeGods in the collection sporting similar traits, we see only two others for sale with Mythical War Armour and none with a Mythic Hemet.
It will be fascinating to observe the trading activity of the y00ts collection once it drops as speculation mounts about Solana’s ability to launch blue chip NFT collections.
Axie Infinity land
Still, it’s possible somebody is playing monopoly in Axie Infinity or that this area of the game map is highly sought after and that last week’s sale pushed the value of the neighboring lands higher.
