New Stations and Components Markets

The two additional stations make it easier for the outer planets to get their goods to market, while also creating additional income opportunities for those willing to compare prices and haul goods from station to station. The marketplaces for all of the stations can be accessed with the same interface. You don’t actually have to be present in the system to use the market. However, if you ever want to move the items, you’ll have to go pick them up.

But another new addition, equally as important, is the Components market. Finally, players will be able to buy the items in-game that are needed Module and Ship production. And, since Components are in-game items only, the few players who could produce Modules, were those who could also make all of the necessary Components. Now, since Farsite has a Components market, we should see some increased economic activity, though it may take some time to get up to speed.

Components are needed to make Modules. And Modules are vital to the ship gameplay. Even as a rookie asteroid miner, you can’t do anything without a mining laser, a scanner (for locating asteroids to mine), and a cargo container (for transporting the harvested resources). What is Farsite?

Resource production varies from planet to planet and even among plots on the same planet. With localized markets, logistics such as transportation and storage become important. Players take on various roles as part of a galactic community. Players could be a hauler, completing contracts to move goods between stations. They could also be a miner, gathering resources from asteroids, or a manufacturer creating components, modules, and starships. The universe of Farsite offers space for governance over stars, as well as room for mercenaries, pirates, politicians, and, traders.

Every item in the game is created by a player using materials found by a player. Production requires a Blueprint, Components, a Base on a Planet and some Credits. Components are made from Resources those can be found on Asteroids and Planets or purchased from other players.

Every item in the game is location-dependent. That means if a Resource was mined on an Asteroid it shall be hauled to a production site or a station to be used or traded.

Ship Hulls and Modules are the tokens created using a cNFT protocol with Credits locked inside. That allows staking ’em against loans in Credits and grants insurance for wrecked Ships.

Credits is the major and the only in-game currency. Almost every operation in the game requires Credits to be performed. Credits can be converted to FAR tokens (ERC-20) any time at 1 FAR = 1’000 Credits ratio. That ratio is hardcoded in smart contracts and will never be changed. FAR tokens could be used to receive the corresponding amount of Credits with the same ratio.

To open a chest, it will take a lot of time to accumulate the necessary $THC, so a big portion of the players use a combination of $gTHC and $THG to get premium heroes.

Playing with a Premium Hero: Premium heroes can earn both $gTHC and $THG by playing battles. In addition, special events offer more earning opportunities while leaderboard placement brings home more crypto. This kind of heroes can be upgraded and sold later for a higher price.

While we are very optimistic for NFT Gaming, we recognize that the industry will need a couple of years to mature. Not everything is perfect. Many games have a hard time balancing their economies and facing the inevitable destruction, which leads to value loss for the players.

Generally, the industry experience so much growth that everyone want’s to make an NFT Game. This results in a wave of low-quality games and many scam projects (crypto!) that will try to get your money through NFT and token pre-sales to “fund the game development.”

NFT and Token Presales is common tactic used in NFT Gaming. Developers sell upfront in-game assets and raise money for development. Some games are even selling assets in very early development stages, and players have to wait for years.

Players and crypto investors get excited, FOMO kicks in and they buy the token (and NFTs), causing the price to pump hard, but only to see it afterward coming down even harder and staying there for a long time, until and if, news and updates increase the price again.

Everyone can understand that it’s essential to join solid games, with developers capable of delivering quality games and the best possible tokenomics design.

We are not saying that every project will fail or it’s a scam, but so far, we have yet to see a stable economy in any of the NFT Games we have tried, with some doing better than others. Also, let’s not forget that games don’t last forever. People lose interest over time, and since NFT Gaming has just a handful of “Triple-A” titles, players tend to leave fast.

We believe this information is vital to know. Accept that there is a significant risk of losing your investment. We see this happening every day. Investing in NFT Games is risky, and you should never spend more than you can afford to lose or for what you would typically pay for a video game.
