Matt Sypien, an art director, created the Hapebeast Prime NFT Collection. The ‘HAPEBBEAST Prime’ collection has 8K distinct NFTs. What exactly is HAPEBEAST? It’s part of the London-based firm Digimental’s ‘new art’ and fashion playground. The first batch of 8,192 unique NFTs will promote and connect style, technology, and community, establishing HAPES as a next-generation fashion leader. I believe those are cool, and I like how the NFT drop incorporates fashion. The compilation was released in January, although it is still available on secondary markets.

Ape-facing NFTs are not a passing craze, as seen by Yuga Labs’ Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs’ success in the crypto market. If you’re looking for a prospective profile photo (PFP) Ape NFT, Hapes should pique your interest.

With this massive avalanche, how about we rework the ‘daily inspiration’ into the ‘Daily NFT Spotlight’ where we would feature projects, artists that we would like to mention on a day-to-day basis.

We plan to begin minting at 18:00 GMT on Wednesday, 19th of January.

Alphas will mint one HAPE each to test the contract a couple of hours before minting opens to people on the HAPELIST.

Will there be a pre-sale event? You tell us. We’re building a community. There will be a whitelist for early supporters of the project but we want to avoid the problems other projects have had with bots and be fair and equitable to everyone. We know most of you know this, but the placeholder image you see on OpenSea isn’t your HAPE: it’s 100% intentional and nothing to worry about. We’ll tell you the date and time for the reveal (and our reveal party?) in a later announcement.

With many NFT projects choosing to orientate themselves around Apes and having great success (for example, CyberKongz or the Bored Ape Yacht Club), Digimental Studios’ “Hapebeast” collection is pursuing this common theme but with a distinctive twist: High Fashion.

Despite the spectacular graphic resolution of the apes, one may assume that the project lacks a cutting edge or unique selling point that differs it from the other ape-themed projects in the space.

Fortunately for the Hapebeast collection, the concept of virtual fashion in the Metaverse is a concept that is very much in its infancy; we’ve recently seen giants like Adidas and Nike peruse the concept of apparel and accessories in the virtual world, namely with the former’s NFT collection with the BAYC and the latter’s decision to acquire RTFKT, a digital design studio specialising in the production of virtual sneakers.

To many other Metaverse enthusiasts and I, this recent surge in attention paid to virtual fashion is indicative of a wider trend of the movement of assets that would normally exist solely in tangible form being converted to the new digital reality; as a result, enormous amounts of capital can be expected to flood into the space.

Hapebeast ticks the boxes in terms of aesthetic quality and will be launching off the back of a remarkable amount of public hype and interest; only recently Discord permitted Hapebeast to expand their server from 250’000 to 500’000 members, which only serves to highlight the likelihood that the project will be an enormous success.

The roadmap includes further NFT drops (present in stages 2 and 3), music to “Hape” to, clothing collabs and even Hape Couture. As mentioned, given Metaverse fashion is still young, I see the Hapebeast collection a potential symbolic representation of this emerging market, much like Cryptopunks are a symbol of the first initial global wave of NFTs.
